The Kindred Collective enlivens leaders, restores communities and strengthens connections by centering equity.

Our Mission

We provide community leaders with the knowledge and interpersonal training necessary to overcome systemic problems that undercut the value of every person. We accomplish this work through the use of racial equity training, healing dialogue programs and vibrant story-telling.

Our Story

Things really began to shift during the 2016 election and each year has brought with it a deeper sense of cultural division and a deafness to truth. Couple that with the continuing violence and oppression of people of color, and you have a lot of people in a lot of pain. As we’ve experienced the personal and societal pains that have unfolded, we recognized a need to help people listen to each other, and tell the truth about themselves, their communities and their organizations. We responded to that need with the Kindred Collective in January of 2020.

The Kindred Collective is not only designed to help people tell the truth, but we also want to uplift and shine a light on people of color that are doing amazing work which aligns with and supports the vision of the collective. Which means you’ll not only find our services here, but we’re also happy to point you in the direction of other people and organizations that are doing amazing work.

We aren’t here to foster a spirit of competition, but one of kinship and collaboration. White Supremacy is designed to fracture communities, cloud identities and make collective action impossible. Therefore, everything we do must be rooted in an understanding of our shared humanity with an eye on liberation. This is what it means to practice equity.

Our Values

  • Cultivating Interpersonal Connection

We believe authentic and mutual relationships are foundational to equity, so we put people first and seek out genuine connection. In short, we’re going to get to know you while helping you navigate what it means to practice racial equity.

  • Saying What Matters

We are committed to speaking the truth. Whether that be to our clients or other collective members, we know that telling the truth in love is imperative. It helps us identify blind spots, keeps us open to ways we might change and helps to build trust.

  • Holding Safe Space

Unpacking the impact of White Supremacy on our personal narratives, communal traditions or organizational cultures requires vulnerability. We are intentional about curating and holding space for that vulnerability to be practiced with grace and safety.

  • Inspring Brave Inquiry

Curiosity is one of the most important skills when it comes to transformation. Our hope is that as we work with you, you’ll feel inspired to keep asking the hard questions even after our contract with you has ended. The best people and organizations never stop learning.
